Deputy Kaleb Mitchell - Forsyth County Sheriff's Office - North Carolina

On March 7, 2026 at approximately 6 a.m., Deputy Kaleb Mitchell from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office (North Carolina) was killed in a motor vehicle accident while on duty in the 7400 block of Highway 311 at the intersection of Grubbs Road.

As of the posting of this article, no additional information is available.

Deputy Mitchell, 24 years old, grew up in Walnut Grove and graduated from South Stokes High School in 2020.  He later attended Forsyth Technical Community College, graduating from Basic Law Enforcement Training in 2021.

Deputy Kaleb Mitchell began his law enforcement career with the King Police Department in 2022 before joining the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.  Serving others was something he talked about from a young age.  His brother, Noah Mitchell, said some of his earliest memories are of Kaleb saying he wanted to be a police officer.

Deputy Mitchell was a husband, father, and the oldest of five children.  According to his brother, helping other was what he loved most about the job.

Deputy Kaleb Mitchell had served with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office for about a year and a half and previously served with the King Police Department. He was 24 years old. Our prayers and condolences to his family both at home and with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and the King Police Department.
