Deputy U.S. Marshal Drew Hanson - United States Marshal

On 7/13, 26, the United States Marshals Service (Violent Offender Task Force) and sheriff's deputies from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office were attempting to apprehend a violent suspect in Alexandria, Louisiana at approximately 3 p.m.

While doing so, Marshals and deputies were faced with gunfire and Deputy U.S. Marshal Drew Hanson was killed.  The suspect was later taken into custody. 

Deputy Marshal Drew Hanson served in law enforcement for 26 years.  He started with local law enforcement before transferring to Homeland Security as a Border Patrol Agent.  He then served as an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) Agent, and then later as a United States Marshal.  He is survived by his Fiancé, children, & parents. Our prayers and condolences go out to his family both at home as well as with his partners.
