On October 3, 2025, Detective Corporal Christopher Dale Mock of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office (Florida), had gone to multiple crime scenes.
Detective Corporal Mock had been called to the scene of a homicide. During the investigation, the bomb disposal team was called after an article was located that looked like an explosive device. Immediately after leaving the scene, Detective Corporal Mock was called out to investigate a suicide.
On the following day, Detective Corporal Mock suffered a heart attack. Life-saving measure were performed and he was rushed to the hospital where he stayed until he passed away on October 15, 2025.
Detective Corporal Christopher Dale Mock was 45 years old and had served the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office for 21 years. He was assigned t the Criminal Investigation Division and is survived by his wife and two children. He was posthumously promoted to Detective Corporal.
