Firefighter Dale Malone - White Level Fire Department - North Carolina

On February 10, 2026, members of the White Level Fire Department (North Carolina) responded to a residential fire. Firefighter Engineer/Safety Officer Dale Malone was a passenger in one of the fire department vehicles.

Upon arriving on the scene and prior to exiting the vehicle, Firefighter Dale Malone suffered a medical emergency. He was treated and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Firefighter Malone served the White Level Fire Department for over 45 years and was a charter member. He held the rank previously of Lieutenant and was 66-years-old.

The White Level Fire Department described Dale as a staple of the fire department. He very dedicated to the dept and was often one of the first to get a truck to respond to any call! His dedication, courage, and commitment to this community spanned nearly half a century. He answered countless calls and helped build the foundation of the department we know today. His legacy will live on in every truck that rolls out the bay and in every firefighter who continues the mission he loved so much.

Our prayers and condolences to Firefighter Dale Malone's family both at home as well as at the White Level Fire Department.
