Firefighter Lieutenant Isai Huerta - Odessa Fire Department - Texas

On June 14, 2026, at approximately 4:59 p.m., fire crews from the Odessa Fire Department (Texas) responded to a residential fire.  

Fire crews were responding to a trailer fire in the 1900 block of South Westcliff Road in Odessa, Texas.  While firefighter were operating on the scene, conditions deteriorated rapidly, resulting in the injury of three firefighters.  All three firefighters were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Tragically, Lieutenant Isai Huerta succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  The other two firefighters injured during the incident did not sustain life-threatening injuries and are receiving care and support.
