Firefighter Robert T. Kilduff Jr - Boston Fire Department - Maine

On May 23, 2026, at around 8 p.m., firefighters from the Boston Fire Department were dispatched to a fire. The fire was at a home on Treadway Road and turned into a three-alarm fire.

Firefighters had encountered heavy flames on all three floors extending to the attic. During efforts to extinguish the fire, Firefighter Robert T. Kilduff Jr., 53, from Rescue 2, fell from a third floor window and sustained critical injuries.

Despite the best efforts of firefighters, EMS personnel, and crews on scene, Firefighter Kilduff succumbed to his injuries.

Firefighter Kilduff was a 24-year veteran of the department and U.S. Marine Corp veteran. He was also a third generation firefighter. His grandfather Vincent Kilduff died in a LODD (Line of Duty Death) in 1971 and his father died from occupational cancer in 2008.

Our prayers and condolences go out to Firefighter Kilduff's family both at home as well as with the Boston Fire Department.
