K9 Cooper - Muskingum County Sheriff's Department - Ohio
Share
On September 5, 2025, K9 Cooper of the Muskingum County Sheriff's Department (Ohio) succumbed to injuries he sustained from left in an unmarked police vehicle.
K9 Cooper unfortunately suffered heat exhaustion while left in an unmarked police vehicle. The vehicle had been left running by K9 Cooper's handler whom believed the air conditioner was on. Because it was an unmarked patrol vehicle, it was not equipped with a temperature monitor.
K9 Cooper had served the Muskingum County Sheriffs Department for over three years and was assigned to the drug unit. K9 Cooper was an Australian cattle dog and was four years old. Our prayers and condolences.
