
K9 Macho - Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office - Louisiana

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (Louisiana) lost one of their K9s on 1/15/25. K9 Macho was killed in the line of duty at approximately 10:50 a.m.
Earlier in the morning, the Crisis Management Unit of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office was called to assist the U.S. Marshals Service with a wanted subject at a residence in the 2000 block of Estalote Ave. in Harvey.
At approximately 10:50 am, deputies located the suspect inside the residence. While apprehending the suspect, K9 Macho experienced a medical emergency and was quickly transported to an area veterinarian hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was taken into custody.
K9 Macho has been a member of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office for 6 years and had been deployed over 200 times and made more than 100 apprehensions. His contributions will never be forgotten.
