Officer Trevor Howard - Marked Tree Police Department - Arkansas

On June 28, 2026, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Officer Trevor Howard of the Marked Tree Police Department (Arkansas) was killed in the line of duty in a vehicle crash.

Officer Howard was in the passenger seat of a squad pickup truck when a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the squad on the passenger side. The impact of the crash caused the truck to overturn. Officer Howard succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The other officer who was driving the squad was transported to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis in serious condition.

Officer Howard had worked with the Marked Tree Police Department for nearly two months and was 25-years-old. Our prayers and condolences go out to his family both at home and with the Marked Tree Police Department.
