Police Officer Andy C. Chan - Philadelphia Police Department - Pennsylvania

On January 3, 2019, Officer Andy Chan of the Philadelphia Police Department (Pennsylvania) was driving on Rhawn Street in Philadelphia at approximately 6:00 p.m.

While driving down the road, a driver of another vehicle struck Officer Chan's motorcycle near Rowland Boulevard.  Officer Chan was transported to the hospital with severe brain trauma and was in a coma for a few weeks.  He was released from the hospital and battled his injuries for over six years.

Officer Chan succumbed to the injuries he received in that motorcycle crash on December 2, 2025.

Officer Andy Chan had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 24 years. He was survived by his wife, three children, parents, sister, and three brothers.  Our prayers and condolences to Officer Chan's family as well as the Philadelphia Police Department.
