On March 6, 2026, after just being promoted to District Shift Commander Jackson Warren, of the Butler County Fire Protection District, was involved in a single-vehicle crash and died in the line of duty.
Shift Commander Jackson Warren, and other firefighters, were responding to a brush fire. Warren was operating a fire apparatus when he ran off the right side of the road and the apparatus overturned. Shift Commander Warren was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another firefighter who was also injured in the incident was treated and released by a local hospital.
Shift Commander had joined the Butler County FPD (Fire Protection District) on October 18, 2021. He was working his very first shift as the district's newly promoted shift commander.
Our prayers and condolences to Firefighter Jackson Warren's family both at home as well as with the Butler County FPD.
